Luxury MTB Chalet - Briancon

Welcome to the Bike-Alp chalet, ideally positioned right in the centre of town, just a 5 minute walk to the ski lifts, restaurants, bars and old citadel, with staggering views over the sourrounding mountains. 5 ensuite bedrooms sleep 10 people with king size beds that can be split into 2 singles to accommodate different group makeups, while a big fancy living room with english TV, large terrace balcony with outside beer fridge and jacuzzi in the garden make for some great post ride unwinding! A secure garage / workshop takes care of the evening fettling and there's private parking if you're driving down.

- Just a few mins walk is the Medieval city of Briancon, which is probably one of the coolest places you’re likely to find in the high Alps. Forget your typical dead ski resort you usually end up in for your summer biking trips – the world heritage citadel of Briancon is a buzzing, all year round Alpine hub, with tonnes of restaurants offering all types of traditional and world cuisine, bars stocked with local mountain ales, live music throughout the summer and the famous Urban DH mtb race with its huge freeride features in the city’s ramparts!

Situated just 1.5 hours from Turin and Grenoble airports, Briancon sits on the French / Italian border, which not only means great coffee and croissants, but is easy to reach if you’re flying from the UK and gives us quick access to an incredible mix of riding – from the fast and flowing lines of Sauze d’Oulx and Bardonecchia, to the the giddy, technical high mountain trails of La Grave and the Ecrins national park.

Briancon enjoys a meditereannean climate too, unlike anywhere else in the high Alps, with over 300 days of sunshine a year to enjoy not only the amazing trails, but all the other activities on offer here – such as world class rafting on the Durance, via ferrata climbing routes, mountain lakes, paragliding or just chilling with a beer or local Chiomonte wine on the city ramparts and catching some rays.

If you’re into the dark art of road biking then you’re also at the foot of the biggest names in the business – the Col du Galibier, Lautaret, Izoard and Telegraphe. The famous climbs of Alpe D’Huez and the highest Col in the Alps – the Bonette – are pretty close by too. Briancon is also accessible by train from the UK via Grenoble and around 9 hours drive from Calais. Why not come join us in the winter!? www.serrechechalet.com
