Much like the Grand Massif and its' biking, Samoens is still largely undiscovered by the English market - both in summer and winter.
It is a lively, listed French Alpine town just one hour from Geneva, with ski lifts linking it directly to the huge Grand Massif ski area - or mountain bike area as we prefer to think of it..
Samoens still retains the feel of rural France, and is a bustling Alpine market town throughout the year, unlike many of the tacky, purpose built resorts designed specifically for winter.
This means that like our mountain bike holidays in general, Samoens and the surounding area is wonderfully relaxed, with plenty of bars and restaurants open well into the small hours.
Our chalet - Ferme Sougey, is located just outside Samoens, on the banks of the Giffre river which runs through Samoens and on to Geneva. The river holds tonnes of activities (which can be assessed from the chalet!) including rafting, kayaking, canoeing, canyoning, water skiing in the local lakes, or just plain larking around.. There are plenty of other non water based activities including paragliding, climbing, abseiling and helicopter rides over the Mont Blanc. All of these we are happy to arrange for you -
check out the activities page for more info and prices..
Situated between Morzine and Mont Blanc, this really is a stunning spot with every ride (and post ride beer) boasting awesome backdrops.
Why not ski with us this winter?
