Mountain Biking in the Alps
A high altitude world of mind blowing views and the alpine singletrack of your dreams.
the Alps, but on steroids
Our local area truly is the Alps MTB destination you've always dreamed about. Forget the likes of Morzine and the northern Alps. This is a wild and huge landscape of dazzling glaciers, big mountain views and massive backcountry descents that have even been described as 'too long'!
Riding from 800 to 3500m, using both vehicle and ski lifts, each day is a mind blowing, big mountain adventure. Flowing, rollercoaster trails snake through the glacial peaks and southern pine forests, taking us through massive elevation and terrain changes, making every ride the epic alpine adventure that you always look for, but never quite find in those traditional alps destinations.
Blessed with over 300 days of sunshine a year and a multitude of ski lift accesed trails, it's no wonder our guests return year on year from all around the globe. There really is no better place to ride.
Each day is tailored to the group and there's no set itinerary laid out. Your trip is completely bespoke to you; focusing on the flowy stuff, or maybe the steep and techy, big hucks or simply a good mixture of everything. You'll always have myself (Steve) as your guide and believe me, no one knows these mountains better!
Our biking paradise
Whether you're staying in our chalet or just looking for our guiding and uplift services, our riding area in the southern Alps region is a true MTB playground.
Briancon and Serre Chevalier
Rolling from the chalet down to our local lifts, we're taken from the town centre, straight up to 2500m altitude and instantly transported into mega, high mountain terrain. A maze of singletrack covers the mountain here, and has been given a healthy bit of shaping by the locals to create some insanely flowy, snaking lines that drop us back to the town and give descents of over 30 minutes each lap!
We can also access the bike park of Serre Chevalier where we'll find huge hucks, sandy berms and empty lifts without a queue in sight. From these lifts we can also access massive backcountry lines which descend for over an hour back to the chalet.
There are also many uplift opportunities straight out of the town, and high mountain passes with huge lines that descend back into Briancon.
- The Col du Granon; 2413m altitude. Barren, big mountain views and super fast, rocky descents.
- Col D'Izoard: 2360m altitude. Vertical rock spires and vast scree slopes create an otherworldly landscape. Dreamlike ridgeline riding and forests that feel almost like park lines drop back into town or into the wilderness of the Queyras.
- Col du Galibier: 2642m altitude. One of the highest cols in the Alps feels genuinely 'top of the world' and gives us access to wild and raw descents into Valloire, the Nevache valley and all day descents back into Briancon.
Surrounding resorts
A multitude of valleys and climbs out of Briancon give us access to an unreal amount of summer lift systems, each with their own feel. Here are some of our favourites.
- Montgenevre: Just up the road on the Italian border. Volcanoes, arid landscapes and beautiful meleze forests. Small bike park and possibly the best descent around in the form of the infamous 'Goliath' singletrack into Briancon.
- La Grave: Like nothing else on earth. Lift access to 3300 metres and genuine glacier biking. Extremely technical and exposed, but a once in a lifetime experience (unless you come back!).
- Puy St Vincent: Possibly the best bike park ever—toboggan-like runs and so smooth you'll forget what braking bumps feel like. Massive natural descents to the valley below and return by train to Briancon!
- Risoul: Another sensational bike park and a far cry from the lumpy mess you'll find in Les Gets. Finish the day with probably the best singletrack in the world—'Centurion'. A 1500m drop to the valley, and a dip in the hot springs to finish.
- Sauze D'Oulx: The original Super enduro venue. Flow on another level through the luminous larch forests of the Italian Alps.
The larger area
Moving further from Briancon, but still within easy reach during your stay with us.
- Lac de Serre Poncon: A massive artificial lake just south of Briancon makes for a sparkling emerald backdrop to possibly the best descents in the area. Big uplifts are possible all around the lake and the singletrack that follows give beach holiday vibes, but on an alpine scale.
- The Queyras: Just across the Col d'Izoard lies the wilderness of the Queyras. It's wild, properly 'out there' biking, with huge backcountry descents famous in the French MTB world.
- Les 2 Alpes: You probably think this is just a bike park, but those high altitude lifts to the glacier give access to some mind bending natural singletrack that you won't find on any of the park maps.
A week simply isn't long enough to experience all of what's on offer here, but it's why guests return year on year, as it's pretty much a different mtb trip each time!

Not your average Alps MTB holiday
If you're looking for something a little different (and a lot more epic) to the average Morzine trip, then look no further!
Or maybe you already have your own accommodation, or another destination in mind in the southern Alps region, such as Alpe d'Huez or Les 2 Alpes? But you'd still like some guiding and uplifts to the lesser known trails. Well we can certainly help with that! See our guiding page here.
It's been a few years since we've ridden with you guys and i'm not sure why we ever went anywhere else! Great service as always and the riding was mental, especially La Grave!
